Seeing clearly on Sunday

- Who are you trusting?
- Where are you going?
- What are you thinking?
Answer these against Proverbs 3:5-6* and you will see phenomenal change in your life that only God can bring.

* Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

Restful Saturday

Today = Relaxing = :o) Matt and I spent the day reading and sunning by the pool, leisurely biking White Rock Lake, and cooking salmon and veggies in the courtyard. Felt like we enjoyed more hours than the day afforded.

Impressed with Gaylord atrium

After our brand presentations, Delana and strolled around the Cascades wing of the Gaylord Opryland this afternoon. It is by far a botanical heaven. I could have easily camped out under this canopy.

A room with a view

I woke up this a.m. with quite an unusual view out of my french-doored patio. On of my brands, Sylvan Learning Centers, is hosting their annual conference this year at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Resort in Nashville ... my room overlooks this atrium Cascades wing. Whew, hearing this all night made for some interesting dreams ;o)

Client dinner tonight was at Flyte World Dining & Wine: http://www.flytenashville.com/

I had this fun little vegan entree and some tasty '93 Trefethen.
After dinner, the Publicis team headed downtown to Division street and played among some incredible live bands jamming out. (A video of one of these bands from Delana to come ...)

Heading to Nashville

Am in Nashville, TN for the rest of the week to attend one of my brand's annual conference. Here's a couple shots from the flight before touching down in Tennessee.

Bon voyage La GG

Jenny (aka La GG for the Greek Goddess she was meant to be) flies back to Sweden today and I return to the office. We had an awesome time over the past week catching up in Dallas and Austin. Time back in the office catching up on the 'to-dos' has kept me from taking a pic today so here's a shot of The Big D for fun.

Touring Big D w/ Jenny

How fitting that we'd toss in a trip up to Reunion Tower during the Grad School Reunion visit. For Jenny's last day in Dallas (on this trip anyhow ;o) we spent it visiting, relaxing and reading by the pool; a little shopping; pre-dinner champagne/martini toast with appetizers at The Dome in Reunion Tower; dinner at Sangria; and after-dinner vino and visit with Berger at Cuba Libre.

UT Ad Grad 5-Year Reunion | Austin

What more can I say? I love these people! Each one of them ... Alejandro, Ansuya, Jenny, Lucy, Chris, Luis, Mandy and Eric ... are some of the most inspiring, brilliant, caring, ambitious, thoughtful, fun and lovely friends anyone would be lucky to have. I am grateful to have them in my life. :o)

Trains, Picnics, Campus, & Friends - oh my!

I love this group of friends! Day 2 of our 5-Year Grad School Reunion and it was a terrific day of catching up and spending time with the new little additions to our gang (Jack, Gianna, & Hayden). We enjoyed a breakfast picnic from Whole Foods at Barton Springs and even took the Zepher Train tour of Zilker Park over a couple of sno cones!
During the heat of the day, we toured around campus (ahhh, the Drag on Guadelupe) and drove around Austin to see the sights. After a little rest, we all met back up at Lucy and Chris' home for a really nice visit, a little more Tex-Mex (never enough ;o)! and to browse through old photo albums. Absolutely lovely day.

5 Year Grad School Reunion | Austin

What a treat! Mandy, Eric, their little man Hayden, Ansuya, Jenny, Luis, Alejandro and I caught up this evening at Guero's for dinner and drifted over for evening cocktails and great conversation (and so many laughs!) at Hotel San Jose's courtyard. Felt like not a weekend had past since we last played in Austin ... everyone looked terrific and I'm so grateful for the time we have this weekend to spend together.

Scrambling to Austin ...

Jenny's luggage has been found and retrieved late in the day! Nice dinner tonight with her and Matt and once again the day has caught up with us. It's getting pretty late and we're heading to Austin in the a.m. Off to get this kitchen cleaned up and packed for the grand weekend ahead.

Jenny's arrival ...

... and yet again, Sweden > Chicago <> reroute through D.C. > Dallas = lost luggage. So, we're now BFFs with the luggage claim lady at DFW as Jenny's bags are staying the night in a different city than us. Fingers crossed, they will arrive tomorrow morning because she is looking super fine in Christie attire ;o)

Long day of travel as I spent it in Denver at Nestle meetings, returning at the exact same time of Jenny's arrival at DFW. Cell phone calls connected as we taxied to our different gates. Her travels were ~23 hours so we're ready to catch some zzz's. I'm so excited for her visit this week!

Here's a shot from the Concourse train at the Denver airport. Reminds me of the day.

Content, connected, peaceful and loved

While I didn't snap this image myself, it really resonated with me today. :o)

Financial Freedom

Crown Financial Ministries "Money Map" and "Personal Mvelopes" are the very best, most intuitive and supportive tools I've been introduced to for gaining true financial freedom and accruing wealth.

Funday Sunday :o)

Who doesn't love one of those days where the weather is perfect, a best friend's in town, discovering a great new favorite patio (where their signature white sangria was invented with you in mind ;o) and the hours seem to leisurely melt by? This Funday Sunday was simply delightful.

Enjoying the weekend

I love girlie weekends! Soums and I have spent this weekend playing and giggling as if we didn't have a care in the world. We stayed up past our bedtimes last night telling stories and giggling over a great bottle of red (well, half a bottle since we're pretty much light weights ;o).

Today we started off by being entertained by the kiddos drawing on the chalk board over brunch at Dream Cafe (above). We spent time at the spa getting pedis, had bubble tea from Tempest, made quite the adventure out of NorthPark, and managed to squeeze in a relaxing dinner at Trece and a night cap at Fuse. It was an incredible day spent with a dear friend. Thanks again, Soums!

What tha ...

Well, the evening has clearly caught up with Soums and I we "almost" forgot to take the pic-of-the-day. So, here it is in all its glory ... Soumya's silly monkey toes, monkey toes. ;o)

Open air Cinema Paradiso

Arts Fighting Cancer has teamed up with the authentic Tuscan winery, Castello di Gabbiano, to bring Dallas “Gabbiano Nights,” an outdoor film series celebrating the Italian lifestyle: good food and fine wine enjoyed with friends and family. Matt and I caught my all-time favorite film, Cinema Paradiso, tonight at Lee Park for a memorable movie-going experience under the stars.

Are you color blind?

Okay, the agency world isn't as flawless as we'd hope. An agency that will remain nameless (;o) has recently distributed samples of new products for their intended target. From the looks of the box I checked out today, the target is quite multi-racial. Hmmm ...

I just love this place ...

A chillaxing visit with friends and family, reflection time with a good book or blog, always fun with Matt's straw launching of bubble tea tapioca pearls.

And thank you, Matty, for brightening my week.

Come on in ...

Day 2 of the official photo journaling experience and I'm already struggling to find an "ideal" inspiring image. It was quite the monsoon weather day in Dallas today so I was less than motivated for a scenic shot, a busy day in the agency so the camera was forgotten about until about 20 minutes ago. As I started looking around for the daily pic, two lessons came flooding in ...

1) As with everything in life, this project isn't going to be perfect. Ahhh, such a struggle for the perfectly unperfect. Thanks for the gentle reminder.

2) Finding the ordinary to be extraordinary is something I'm absolutely looking forward to and just another motivation to continue this adventure with new lenses.

So, thanks for dropping in. Welcome to whatever's to come :o)

Purpose behind the pixels

I've recently been inspired by the idea of creating a space to take a photo a day to capture what happened or inspired me that day. Like a photo diary. A project to take one photograph every day to see my environment creatively and find ways to capture and share my experiences with others.

Other inspiring images and thoughts may pop up as we go.

Stay tuned ...
